About
Hello! My name is Maria Angela Streeter, and I am passionate about helping individuals navigate challenges with compassion and understanding. My journey in psychology began 30 years ago. Before returning to the field, I spent years working in the hotel industry across various countries, which deepened my appreciation for diverse cultures and strengthened my ability to connect with people from all walks of life. These experiences shaped my approach to therapy, emphasizing empathy, adaptability, and respect for each person’s unique story.
Eight years ago, I returned to psychology, earning a master’s degree in Mental Health from Wake Forest University. During my training, I completed two transformative internships: one at a recovery center, where I supported individuals on their healing journeys, and another at a college counseling center, where I helped students manage academic pressures, life transitions, and mental health challenges.
I take an integrative and personalized approach to therapy, using scientifically proven and effective methods. My areas of focus include anxiety, stress, depression, negative self-talk, trauma, and inner child work. Above all, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where individuals feel heard, valued, and empowered to navigate life’s complexities with confidence and resilience.
Because language shapes how we express emotions and connect with others, I offer therapy in both English and Spanish. Studies show that working in one’s native language can deepen trust, strengthen emotional connection, and support greater healing, which is why I ensure clients can engage in therapy in the language that feels most natural and authentic to them.
I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey to healing and self-discovery.
